Princeton MO Sept 17 1924 Obituary-Leonard V Peterson Leonard V Peterson, son of James and Sarah Peterson was born Nov 25 1855, in Illinois and passed away at his home 7 miles west of Mercer Sept 11 1924; age 69 years, 8 months and 16 days. Leonard was a loving companion, a good neighbor, and his greatest desire was to help those in need, therefore the vacancy in the home can never be filled, and he will be greatly missed by his neighbors and friends, and especially the children of the community will miss him. At the age of 3 years he moved with his parents to Mercer County where he has resided ever since. He was the last of his family, his father having died in the service for his country in 1863 at Jefferson City MO. His mother and two sisters died som years later at Lexington Nebr, where their remains now rest. In the year 1880 he was married to Hoyt Snyder who died in 1887. Then in 1894 he was again married to Nellie Argo. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, one uncle Elijah Peterson of near Saline, a brother-in-law, Adam Argo, three nieces, Nellie Argo of Mercer, Ella Dunn and Myrtle Chare of Central Nebr; Eight nephews, Leonard, Jack, John and Bill Argo of Mercer, Bert and Garret Haymaker of Bertrand Neb M G O'Hara of New York City and T L O'Hara of Denver Colo. The latter being the only one from a distance able to attend the funeral. Funeral services were held at Middlepoint, Sept 13, after which the remains were laid to rest in nearby cemetery. The services were conducted by J A Derry.
